Description
Data is provided with accordance to the IAGA working group, in the correspondance of Jean L. Rasson. The schematic fig(1a) shows the chosen coordinate sytem. When deployed the X and Y axes are in arbitrary directions. On processing the direction of the H axis is found by finding the mean direction of magnetic field on the quietest day of the year. The quietest day is the 24hr period with the smallest integrated change in the resultant field vector. The processed data is then stored in DABS.
